The 2012 Project

Do you enjoy photography? Do you like working with photo editing software? And do you LOVE the library? Then why not put your skills to work and show your love of books by contributing to The 2012 Project! The goal of the project? To prove that teens still use libraries, despite the Internet and ebooks!

Here's how the project works: using a cell phone or a digital camera, take some photos (borrow the library's camera, or ASK Ms. Roohi if you can use your cell phone camera). They can be creative or just straight-ahead shots. Add text if you'd like. Pictures can be tweeted to @TLT16 or posted directly on the Teen Librarian's Toolbox Facebook wall. (No names will be included to protect every one's privacy.) Each month they will take all the images and create a visual blog post demonstrating the power of libraries in young people's lives. Approximately six pictures will be needed per day to reach the overall goal of 2,012 images. So join in! And don't forget to show your photo to Ms. Roohi too!

Think @ Your Library

Voting for the bookmark contest is back! Come in to the library anytime before 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 7th, and vote for your favorite bookmark. This year we have a record breaking 41 bookmarks to choose from!!

Each student will be given two tickets for voting. You can vote for your two favorites, or give both of your votes to one bookmark.

The results will be announced on the video announcements on Thursday the 8th, OR you can preview the winners on Goldenview Middle School Library's Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon!

The top three winners will get a gift card to Barnes and Noble, and will compete in the district bookmark contest on December 9th.

Get a New ID in the Library!

Have you lost your ID card? Are you going on a trip and need some ID? Are you new and never got a Goldenview ID? Then come by the library and we'll set you up with one! New students will get an ID for free, all others must pay a $5 replacement fee. This year we are unable to make ID's onsite, so it will take 7-10 days to get the ID's back. If you want an ID, come by the library, leave your name and $5, and we will deliver it to you when we get them!

Bookmark Contest

It's time once again for the annual bookmark contest! This year's theme is Think @ Your Library! All entries are due by November 23rd, and voting will be done by students from November 29th through December 5th. The top three winners will be announced on December 6th, and their bookmarks will be entered in the district contest taking place on December 9th. All three winners from our school will get a Barnes and Noble gift card. Bookmark blanks can be found in the library or downloaded right here. Below are the detailed rules for the contest:

This contest is open to all ASD students in grades K-12. There are four groups: Primary (K-3), Intermediate (4-6), Middle School, and High School.
The artwork must be the original work of the student, whether computer generated or hand drawn.
The theme for 2011 – 2012 is Think@ your library™ and that phrase must be included on the bookmark.
Use your imagination and any ideas relating to reading, literacy and the love of the library!
Entries must be on white paper and be 7” x 2 3/4”. Entries should be decorated with color and outlined in fine point black marker. The phrase “Think @ your library™” must be located on the entry bookmark.
Return your entry to Ms. Roohi by November 23. The three winning school entries will go to the district competition to choose the district winners. District judging for Middle School and High School will take place at the ASD secondary librarians’ meeting on December 9, 2011. Entries become the property of the Anchorage School District and may be used in other advertisements.
Top prize for the four groups will be gift certificates from bookstores. The winning designs will be reproduced and distributed to ASD schools!
Write your full name, grade and school name on the back of the bookmark.

Battle of the Books Starts Tuesday!

The first Battle of the Books practice will take place in the library at lunch on Tuesday, October 4th. Battle of the Books will meet every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch through the end of January. If you are participating in Battle of the Books bring your lunch to the library at the beginning of lunch and eat in the library. There is no need to go to the lunch room unless you are getting hot lunch. If you are getting hot lunch, please get a pass from Ms. Roohi. No one else needs a pass. Don't forget to turn in your permission slips! Click here to read the book summaries.

If you are not participating in Battle of the Books, but want to come to the library during lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays, you will need to get a green pass from one of the security guards in the lunch room. Green passes are the ONLY acceptable passes for the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and you must go to the lunch room to get one. Regular passes will be accepted on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Did you know the library has a Wii? We do! And it's available to use during lunch two days a week. If you'd like to play on the Wii, just sign up at the circulation desk. You may sign up to play once a month. Wednesdays are reserved for boys, and Fridays for girls. We have the following games:

The Library is Open for Lunch on Wednesday

Starting Wednesday, August 31st, the library will be open for both lunches most every day (double check the open/closed sign in the lunch room). Here is what you need to know about coming to the library during lunch:

To come to the library during lunch you must have a pass. You can get a pass from your teacher, the librarian, or use your student ID. One pass per person!!
You can get a laminated library pass or pink pass from a teacher or the library BEFORE lunch starts. 8th graders may use their ID's from last year.
Eat in the lunch room, and come to the library when you're finished. When you get here, leave your lunch items on the table next to the door. NO WATER OR DRINK IN THE LIBRARY OTHER THAN ON THE TABLE NEXT TO THE DOOR.
Sign into the library on the clipboard on the circulation desk. Show your ID or put your pass into the basket.
During lunch you may play board games, cards, puzzles, Legos, talk to your friends, knit, read, do homework, or use the computers.
You may play computer games on the GV fileshare during lunch. Please don't play games on the Internet.
The Wii is available for signup on Wednesdays (girls) and Fridays (boys).
When lunch is over don't forget to take your lunch items with you! You do not need to sign out from lunch.

Loussac's Teen Underground Opens This Friday!

Two Exciting New Arrivals

Imagine, if you will... the library is closed, you forgot your database passwords, and you have an assignment due tomorrow. So you hop on Google to find information, and get 300 million hits. How do you know which one of these millions of sites is good? Try some of these tips:

Does it end in .gov, .edu, .mil? These are high quality sites.
Does it end in .org or .net? These are usually reliable, but double check!
Does it end in .com or.biz? These are commercial businesses, so use caution! Ultimately they’re probably trying to sell you something.
Is there a person’s name in the URL after a tilde (~)? For example: http://www.bignameuniversity.edu/~guido/ The tilde means it is a personal webpage. It could be factual; then again, it might just be an opinion. No one is double checking this page for accuracy, bias or content.
Is it hosted by a free web hosting site like Weebly, Wix, Yola, or Webnode? Or is it on a blog like Blogspot or Wordpress? Is it a wiki? Once again, these are usually personal pages.
Is it current? Check the date, often found at the bottom of the page. If it’s more than a year or so old, chances are no one is keeping it up to date. Remember, a lot of information ages quickly! Why take chances?
Is the site free of errors? If you notice more than one grammatical or spelling error, then can you trust that there are no factual errors?
Are there lots of ads? They’re distracting. Also, again they’re trying to sell you something; information is secondary.
Finally, read the webpage! Does it seem to be opinionated or satirical? Does something seem not quite right? Use your judgment! If it doesn’t feel right, choose another site!

The Stools Have Been Sanded!

Thanks to some of Mr. Nelson's students, the tops of all the stools in the library have been sanded down. Yesterday the boys took their part of the project down to Ms. Brady's class, and now her students will do their magic! Stay tuned to see the final transformation of the stools!!

Today one of our very generous 8th graders donated the first 24 (yes 24!) volumes of the graphic novel series Rurouni Kenshin to the library. On behalf of all the manga lovers at the school, THANK YOU! Do you have lots of manga clogging your shelves? If they're in good condition and middle school appropriate, considering donating them to our library. Your classmates will thank you, and you'll get a very cool bookplate with your name on it on the inside cover of the books!

April 5th Update: We also just got a donation of Full Metal Alchemist volumes 3-22! So now there is another series to read if you've already worked your way through all the rest of our manga!

It's Research Season!

It's fourth quarter and that means research projects for 8th graders, and limited access to the library during lunch for 7th graders. L Many of the 8th graders are doing debate research. To make it easier to find resources, links to our best debate resources have been placed at the top of the column to the left. Below are some of the great resources you should use (or you can get a brochure on how to use the databases here):

Search the PAC: search the catalog right from this webpage to find a great book!

Opposing Viewpoints: This is the best database out there for debates! Search the database right from this page, then click Viewpoints on the left hand side of the results page to get all the great materials for debates.

Issues and Controversies: Click on the link, then enter your username and password. Get the password off your database bookmark, or come ask for it in the library!

Student Research Center: Search this very comprehensive database right here from the library website. Don't forget to narrow your results by subject, and try clicking on the magazine box to only view those results.

IDEA: Click on this icon to access the International Database Education Association, the organization that publishes the Debatabase books. All their topics are arranged alphabetically on the website. Just scroll through until you find your topic!

Don't forget to keep track of your sources! Try an online citation generator, like Easy Bib, which is also in the left hand column of our website.

Brandon Mull!

Two weeks ago I went to the Alaska Library Conference in Juneau and got to meet Brandon Mull. He was a very interesting speaker, and told us all about the next book series he has coming out: The Beyonders. Book one is called A World Without Heroes and it comes out March 15th. It looks awesome! See the trailer here: If you're a big Fablehaven fan, you'll want to read this!

Mr. Mull stopped and talked to us at the Juneau airport while we were all waiting to board our planes home.

The Bookfair is a Success!

Thanks to everyone who came by the library during conferences and bought books! The book fair was a big success. The book fair sold over $2200 in books, netting just over $550 for the library. In addition, generous families donated $150 worth of books to the library, meaning the library will have about $700 in new books this spring! Most of the new books can be seen on the shelf above, and include Reckless, Heart of a Samarui, Daniel X, Clockwork Angel, Moon Over Manifest, I Shall Wear Midnight, Lightning Thief Graphic Novel, The Edge, Built to Last, Greek Myths, and a few more. Many thanks to everyone who came and supported the library! And don't forget, if you still want to donate books to the library, we have an account with School Library Exchange, which makes it very easy!

All New Computers!

The library got all new computers this week. There are 12 new student computers, and two new circulation computers. They all came with Windows 7, and are fully loaded with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.). And what are the students finding the most popular with the new computers? The games are faster! Sigh. But everyone gives the new computers two thumbs up.

These are the fastest computers in the building, are the only ones with Windows 7, and are the only student computers with Office. And of course they all print. So head to the library and do some homework!

Goldenview Battle Team Takes Second in District!

Design a Logo for the New PAC

Draw a new logo! This one is history!

The Anchorage School District libraries got a new catalog last summer to help students locate books. If you've been on one of the Mac's in the library to look up a book, then you've used the catalog, or PAC (Public Access Catalog) as we're calling it. The catalog is easy and fun to use, but it has no logo! Soooo, if you're artistically inclined, and you love the library, and you want a chance to win a $50 gift card for books, then take out your art supplies and start creating a logo! The logo must be between 3x3 inches and 6x6 inches (though it doesn't have to be square), have a theme of books, libraries or information retrieval, and be turned into the library by February 25th to qualify. Congratulations to Erica, Shruti, Tyanna, and Koral, winners of this year's Battle of the Books competition at Goldenview! This was the most exciting competition ever! It was also the largest ever with ten teams competing. Good luck to Goldenview's winners when they attend the district battle at Clark Middle School next Thursday, February 3rd.

Donate Books to the Library--Right Here!

There is a new service called School Library Exchange that was established by a retired librarian to help people who want to donate books find a library that wants them! So if you like to support your local library, or want to donate some books, The Goldenview Library is now a member of the School Library Exchange. You can click on the site and find what books we need, and then sign up to donate them (usually orders are placed right through Amazon, but they don't have to be). To find out more click here, or on the widget to the left of this post. All donations will receive a nice "donated by" book plate.

New Book Awards Announced!

Today the American Library Association announced the best books of 2011. All the books were published in 2010. The winner of the Printz Award for best young adult book is Ship Breaker by Paolo Bacigalupi. One of the runners up is Revolver by Marcus Sedgwick. Both of these books are at Goldenview and can be checked out now! Other winners today are Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A.S. King and One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams Garcia.

The Library Now Makes ID Cards

The library finally has the ID card maker up and running for the year. If you lost your ID and need a new one come by the library and we'll make one for $5.00. Don't forget those ID's come in really handy when you're travelling!

Samson-Dimond Library Closing

Saturday, December 11th, was the last day that the Samson-Dimond branch of the library was open. It was closed by the city due to budget cuts. The closest library to us is now the Loussac library on 36th and Denali. Time to start driving even further from home to use the public library!

Teen Underground Logo Winner Announced

Wondering who won Loussac Library's Teen Underground Design the Logo contest? Well it's time to Congratulate 8th grader Spencer Mitton of Northern Lights ABC school! Look for his logo, shown above, when you visit the Teen Underground in April.

What is the Teen Underground? It will be a high-tech learning center encased in a glass modular where students can collaborate, learn, research and study. It will be located in the northwest corner of the library's third floor.

Look It Up @ Your Library

The 2010 School District bookmark contest starts today and runs through November 24th. Come by the library and pick up an entry form with a blank bookmark template on it (or print them off here). All entries received by November 24th will be on display for voting by students and staff in the library during the week of November 29th. The top three winners will be announced on December 6th at school and via FaceBook on December 4th. The top three winners will get Borders gift cards.

The theme for this year is Look It Up @ Your Library. So grab your art supplies and head to the library!

Goldenview Middle School’s Book Fair at Barnes & Noble

Saturday, October 30th

11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Goldenview is hosting a Book Fair at Barnes & Noble on Saturday, October 30th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is the potential to raise a lot of money for our school that day. With every purchase Goldenview will receive a percentage of the proceeds. There will be several tables with selections of books to buy for the library and your teachers. If you buy and donate it to the library your name will be put on a bookplate for the inside front cover (and everyone else will be grateful to you for buying the book!)

The music department will be performing, along with face painting, door prizes and more. Art students' work will be hung in the entrance of the store.

You have to mention Goldenview when you make your purchases in order for Goldenview to receive a percentage of the proceeds from the sales.

Don't forget to buy a book for the library!

Help the Teen Underground!

The Loussac Library is having a contest to design a logo for the Teen Underground--the new youth space in the library. Did you notice that there is no cool picture to draw your eyes to this story? It's because it doesn't exist yet! So enter the contest and draw a logo. If you win, then your logo will be what all teens see when they come hang out in their new area at the public library from now on! Plus you'll be a specially invited guest at the grand opening in April. So get drawing, because all entries are due by November 2nd. You can pick up an entry form in the Goldenview library, at any public library, or you can download it here. Turn in your entries before the 2nd to either the public library or Ms. Roohi.

Attention book AND movie fans, you can now have the best of both worlds! There is a new trend in the book world, and it is called Book Trailers (think movie trailers about books)! That's right, some industrious individuals are out there right now making trailers to your favorite books. Some of them are even your fellow students! So to celebrate this new trend, there is a competition going on right now to find this year's best book trailers. If you want to have a say, go to this website, watch the book trailers, and vote before October 22nd! Two of my favorite trailers are in the column to the left of this posting (now removed--sorry!). Battle of the Books Starts Tuesday!

The 2010-2011 season of Battle of the Books starts Tuesday during lunch. If you want to participate, bring your lunch and come to the library at the beginning of lunch period. We will eat in the library and start practice! Practice is every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch. This year we have the best list of books ever, so if you want to participate, print off the permission slip and come to practice this week! See you @ lunch!

Banned Books Week!

This week is Banned Books Week across the country. So now is a great time to think about all the books we love, and what our life would be like if we hadn't been exposed to them. Some of our favorite books other people don't want us to read because they don't like the message contained in them. The Cat in the Hat is great! But don't read The Lorax, because some logging groups don't want our children exposed to the idea of conservation! And what about Harry Potter, Twilight, A Wrinkle in Time, Huckleberry Finn, the Bible, Fahrenheit 451 (yes, a book on banning books has been banned) Julie of the Wolves, Call of the Wild, the Qur'an, the Outsiders, 1984 or Animal Farm (these last three are often read by Goldenview 8th graders). If this is peaking your curiousity, come to the library and check out the display (and check out a book--banned or not!). Or you can look at the books in the bookriver of our catalog, they've all been banned at one time or another!

Loussac is designing and building a brand new teen section in their library! It will be finished by spring, but they want input from ALL teens in town to know what you want to have in the new area. We Now Have Four Dedicated Catalog Computers!

Thanks to a wonderful volunteer, we now have four computers in the library that are solely dedicated to our new catalog. That means four of you can now access the catalog at once! Four of you can sign on to your account and put a book on hold! The twelve other computers in the library (as well as all other internet enabled computers in the world) will access the catalog too, but you will need to sign on to them first.

The big news at the start of this school year is that WebCat, our old library catalog is gone, and has been replaced by a much more user friendly catalog called LS2-PAC! Granted the name leaves a little to be desired, (so we'll call it WebDog for the time being), but the services it provides are great! It now has smart searches, it corrects your spelling, and shows you the covers! And if you create an account you can renew your books online, request that books be held for you if they're checked out, rate and review your favorite books, and always know what you have checked out and when it's due. If you'd like to make an account come visit the library, email Ms. Roohi, or find the directions on the Library's static website (this is the blog).

Well, the winners have been announced, and the second place winner in the middle school black and white division was none other than Goldenview's Becca Padrick! Congratulations Becca! Summer Reading!

Summer is here, and what are you going to do with all that free time? How about read a great book? If you're not able to travel outside this summer, you can at least travel to far off places, times and even planets in a book! Not sure what to read? Then check out our list of great summer reads!

It was a busy year!

Dear Students,

You have kept Ms. Roohi and Ms. Bear very busy this year! From the first day of school until now you have checked out 12,676 books! That averages out to 16 books per student! By way of comparison last year we only checked out 9,579 books, so you are a group of huge readers!

Keep those library books coming back, we still have 146 books out as of Wednesday afternoon!

And if you're wanting to know what books to read for summer, stay tuned and we'll post a list here, along with news of a fun reading challenge in June!

The End is Nigh!

The good news: school is almost over! The bad news: all the books need to return to the library before you can leave for the summer! So this Wednesday is the last day to check out books, and all books are due back in the library on Friday the 7th. Overdue notices will be printed twice this week so you can start looking for what you have checked out. Clean up your room and dig those books out from under your bed!

Your Library's Got Game!

What's that you see in the library? Is it a Wii? What's the library doing with a Wii?

Last Friday a brand new Wii was delivered to the library as part of a gaming grant that all middle school libraries in the district received. We received a Wii with one remote and Wii Sports, and 2 DDR pads (rumor has it we should get the gaming software for that soon).

There are no big plans for the Wii yet, as they are still in the development stage. So between now and the end of school the Wii will be on during lunch in the library as plans are made for next year.

Students should feel free to come down and use the Wii during lunch. However, as a "fee" to use the Wii they will have to help set up guidelines for fair use, and also come up with ideas for the use of the Wii at school.

Finally, we would love to have three more remotes and some other games (school appropriate, of course!) for the Wii. If you'd like to donate some to the library, please do!

Two Students are Guests on Talk of Alaska along with Author Roland Smith!

On Tuesday morning two seventh graders travelled to the APRN studios and participated in the Talk of Alaska radio call-in show with host Steve Heimel. The students posed questions for author Roland Smith as part of the Alaska Spirit of Reading program. The interview was very interesting, and Mr. Smith told many amusing and insightful stories about writing and researching his books Peak, Thunder Cave, Zach's Lie, and Sea Otter Rescue. Becca and Benton asked some great questions. Listen to the show here!

Next year's author for the Alaska Spirit of Reading program will be Will Hobbs, author of Far North, one of the Battle of the Books for middle school in 2010/2011.

Mrs. Mortenson Visits Goldenview!

On April 16th, Jerene Mortenson, mother of Greg Mortenson, the author of Three Cups of Tea, visited Goldenview and gave an inspiring talk to all the students and staff. Mrs. Mortenson spoke of her son's experiences, and the importance of building schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan to the peace process. She especially stressed the importance of educating girls.

On her way to the auditorium Mrs. Mortenson stopped by the library and donated several copies of all three of her son's books, including 8 copies of the young adult edition of Three Cups of Tea, which will be a middle school battle of the book next year. Thank you Mrs. Mortenson--both for the books and the inspiring talk!

Celebrate Poetry Month with a Spine Poem

April is National Poetry Month. It is also National Library Month (don't forget to shower your librarians with lots of love and chocolate)! To celebrate the month, we are creating poetry in the library... with book spines! We have pulled lots of books with provocative and intriguing titles, and we are asking you to come to the library and spend five minutes making a poem out of them. Any book in the library may be used, not just ones we have pulled. You may also use WebCat to find suitable titles. You may bring books from home, or even do this at home and bring in a picture! When you finish your poem come find a librarian and we will take a picture of your poem and post it here! Here are some examples to get you started:

New Books! The Last Ones for the Year

Last week and this week the library got the last two shipment of books for the year. Mostly we got country books for next year's seventh graders, but there were still some fun books in there too! Like The Reformed Vampires Support Group, Monstrumologist, Fang and Incarceron. The new books are all in the link to the left, and can be put on hold. Starting Wednesday the library will be open for 8th graders again at lunch. 7th graders, you're not so lucky. But you can still come in before and after school, or between classes!

Big Book and Movie News! Twilight and Hunger Games Fans!

Two things came to my attention today that will probably interest you. First, Stephenie Meyer is coming out with a new Twilight novella in June! The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner will be released on June 5th, and is about a minor character from Eclipse. Even better, between June 7th and July 5th you will be able to read it online for free at breetanner.com.

And Hunger Games Fans, the movie will be coming out sometime in 2011. So far there is no word on the cast, but do you think it will translate well into a movie? For sure there will be awesome action scenes, but will we be able to know everything Katniss is thinking? Anyway, these are no official movie trailers and the cast hasn't been announced. However, there are many fan made movie trailers and wishlists of the cast on the Internet, and I liked these two best. What do you think? Who should play the roles in the movie?

Testing Starts April 1st, No Joke! Get a Book!

The testing season starts on Thursday, April 1st, I kid you not. 8th graders will be taking the science test, and 7th graders will be waiting, waiting... Then the following week everyone has three days of testing to complete. And what are you going to do when you're finished working but time isn't up? Your teacher will be giving you the evil eye if you sing, tap dance, or take out an electronic device. As a matter of fact the only teacher approved activity is reading, so avoid the Thursday morning rush and get to the library NOW and check out a book! Some kids run in the library and grab the first book they find on the shelf. But if you'd like to read something interesting, ask Ms. Roohi for a suggestion.

Anchorage Public Library has just today announced a poster contest in conjunction with People Mover busses. Design a poster using the theme Make a Splash--Read @ Your Library! and include a bus in the picture, and if you're the winner, they'll enlarge your picture and put it on the busses this summer! Goodbye Macs, Hello Flat Screens!

If you come in the library this week you will notice that the computer area looks much nicer. Thanks to Mr. Holleman the two Macs are gone and all the the big CRT monitors have been replaced by flat screens. But that's not all! He also spent a significant part of the Friday before break (remember that day? You students were already off), updating all the computers. That means not only do the library computers look nicer now, they also run faster! You should notice it the next time you're in the library ~~playing games~~ doing research on the computers. If you like the improvements, thank Mr. Holleman the next time you see him!

Graphic Novel Lovers and Artists, Take Note!

Bosco's has just made two big announcements today.

David Petersen, the author of Mouse Guard, will be at the Spenard Bosco's on March 4th, from 5-7 signing books. If you'd like to meet him come by during that time! You can get more information here.
If you love to draw, especially characters from manga, then Bosco's has a contest for you! All entries are due by April 16th, and there are prizes for three different age groups. Also, if at least 10 students from Goldenview enter the contest, our school could win a contest too! Talk to Ms. Roohi for more details.

Library Puzzle

This year students in the library have completed four puzzles. At right is the latest puzzle, completed on Thursday, of Washington, D.C. It had 750 pieces and was completed in a little over a week. The puzzles have been very popular, perhaps as a relaxing diversion from all that school work! If you'd like to try your hand at the next puzzle, stop by some time! And if you have extra puzzles at home that you'd like to donate to the library, we're looking for some good colorful puzzles, like this one.

New Books!

The library received 141 new books on Friday ($2748.19 in case you're wondering). Most of them were history and geography books to help update our aging collection, but we did get a few interesting ones! Of note are a few new graphic novels including Cirque du Freak, Daniel X, and Tsubasa. We have several series continuations, including Ranger's Apprentice, Vampire Kisses, and the Frog Princess. Lightning Thief Movie--Did You Like It?

From what I heard around the library today many of you went to see Percy Jackson and the Olympians: the Lightning Thief over the weekend (What? You weren't watching the Olympics?). Many of you liked it, but more of you said it was nothing like the book, and were quite disappointed. What do you think? Did you like the movie? Hunger Games Book #3 Cover Released

In case you hadn't heard, the third book in the Hunger Games trilogy will be released August 24th, 2010. That's old news. But the new news is that it finally has a cover! Take a peak at the cover at left. Do you think the series will have a good ending? Does the cover look more hopeful? And who will live: Peeta or Gale? I can't answer those questions now, and neither will the publisher, but they will tell us five things that WON'T be in the book.
