Participate in the Democratic Process @ Your Library!

The Youth Vote is going on now in our library!  During the week every student will be coming to the library and voting for president, senator, and representative, plus two referendum questions (one on immigration, one on whether you're involved in the decision making process).  Study up on the candidates and make an informed decision.  Remember: you don't have to vote the way your parents or friends do, vote for who you think is most qualified!  This is a secret ballot.  No one will ever know your vote unless you tell them.  Election results for our school and the school district will be released shortly after the general election.

Your ID Is Also a Library Card!

Don't lose that ID card because it can be used for so many cool things! By using the 14 digit number on your ID located under the sun (and your PIN is the last four digits of that long number), you can:

If you are one of the 75% of students whose parents signed you up for a public library card at registration, your card can also be used to:
Remember, any time any of these websites ask for  your library card number, they are talking about the one on your ID card that starts with 21.  If they want your PIN, it is the last four numbers of that long number.  Hopefully you wrote the number in your planner in case you lose your ID!  If you ever need to know the number again just ask a librarian.

James Dashner Is Coming to Anchorage

James Dashner will be at Barnes and Noble on Tuesday October 25th for a talk and signing of his new book The Fever Code.  The talk is at 7:00, with the signing after.  The talk is already sold out, but if you'd like to have him sign a copy of The Fever Code, purchase your copy at Barnes and Noble and they will give you wristbands to the book signing event!  Any seats not taken by 6:45 will be given to the general public who happen to be there at that time.
