New Shelves!

Two thirds of our new shelving and storage unit is done!  Thank you to Mr. Masneri, his students, and The Alaska Community Foundation for the grant that made all this possible.  Below are some pictures of the progress.
A year ago we had shelves with computers on top. This was the biography section and PAC computers
There were shelves behind them too, blocking the view.  We also stored the games and yearbooks here.
We used the other side for library storage.  And garbage. And those unsightly cords!
After we took the shelves away, we had nothing to put the computers on except tables!
And we stored games and library supplies on carts.
But now look.  Isn't it beautiful?
There will be one more section added on the left side.  It will be the reverse of the right side.  Hopefully doors are coming too.

Bibliography Help

The following is copied directly from our Bibliography page, but it is reposted here to help you because research season is in full swing!

Goldenview uses the MLA format for writing bibliographies. For MLA bibliography slips (7th ed.) click here. For a simple MLA guideline used at Goldenview click here.

Ms. Roohi will happily edit your bibliography if you share it with her on Google Docs: roohi_nicole

Online citation generators are wonderful tools, but they are frequently incomplete and inaccurate.  For this reason you should be familiar with what a standard bibliography looks like so you can review EACH bibliography entry that the citation generator creates.

Google Docs now has an Easy Bib add on to help you create bibliographies right there in your paper.  Here are directions on how to use it.  Please note that the Easy Bib Google Doc add-on, in particular, is frequently incomplete.  You will often have to go in and add more information!

Below are some handy bibliography tools:

Zotero is another amazing note taking and organization tool that also will create bibliographies for you.  To use Zotero you will need to download an add-on for Firefox.  For directions on how to make a bibliography in Zotero click here.
