Library Snapshot Day

Wednesday is Library Snapshot Day here in the library!  On this day we collect data about who uses the library and why.  This helps us better serve YOU!  Come by and say hi, fill out a survey, or have your picture taken!  The survey also asks what new books you'd like to see in your library. You can also fill out the survey here.

Alaska Book Week!

It's Alaska Book Week, so come by the library and check out a book about Alaska or by an Alaskan.  We have a nice display out.  If you're interested in books about wildlife, guides, hunters, and biologists, click here.

And just in time for Alaska Book Week, the National Book Award nominees were announced  yesterday, and for the first time ever an Alaskan was nominated.  The book is My Name is Not Easy by Debby Dahl Edwardson.  This is a big award, and a big honor!  We will be buying the book very soon

Battle of the Books Starts Tuesday!

The first Battle of the Books practice will take place in the library at lunch on Tuesday, October 4th.  Battle of the Books will meet every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch through the end of January.  If you are participating in Battle of the Books bring your lunch to the library at the beginning of lunch and eat in the library.  There is no need to go to the lunch room unless you are getting hot lunch.  If you are getting hot lunch, please get a pass from Ms. Roohi.  No one else needs a pass.  Don't forget to turn in your permission slips! Click here to read the book summaries.

If you are not participating in Battle of the Books, but want to come to the library during lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays, you will need to get a green pass from one of the security guards in the lunch room.  Green passes are the ONLY acceptable passes for the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and you must go to the lunch room to get one.  Regular passes will be accepted on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
